The 6 Best Neighborhoods for Short-Term Renting in Cincinnati

A haven for foodies and beer aficionados alike, Cincinnati is the city that really has it all. From beautiful historical architecture to gorgeous, pleasant parks to an impressively booming professional sports scene, the Queen City is an underappreciated gem of the Midwest. And, even if you’re not thinking of relocating here permanently there are plenty of apartments in Cincinnati that allow you to rent short term.

So, to make it easier for you to find the perfect place for your temporary stay, we’ve compiled a list of the top six neighborhoods that short-term renters should consider when relocating to Cincinnati.

Kenwood

Famous for the Kenwood Towne Centre — the premier enclosed shopping mall in the tri-state area — Kenwood manages to achieve a blend of urban and suburban that make it popular with older residents entering retirement age, as well as young professionals. That’s because it provides renters with plenty of activities to engage in whether it’s a walk in the park or going out to eat at the many restaurants, cafes and eateries scattered around the area.

Oakley

Popular with families, Oakley provides all of the comforts of an urban-suburban neighborhood — without residents needing to sacrifice their passion for the outdoors. In particular, among Oakley’s various parks the Oakley Playground makes for a great Sunday outing with the whole family, while Hyde Park Golf & Country Club is the perfect spot for a nice, quiet afternoon. What’s more, this neighborhood is very walkable. Alternatively, it also provides easy access to highway 71 and is just a 10-minute drive from downtown Cincinnati.

Pierce Township

Outdoor enthusiasts have a lot to look forward to when it comes to this area. Parks, especially, are quite plentiful here. The endearingly named Locust Lake is one of the main attractions of Pierce Township, eclipsed only by Pierce Township Nature Area and the Pierce Township Park. If that’s not enough, the area also boasts two golf courses (Legendary Run Golf Course and Vineyard Golf Course) as well as the Stillmeadow Country Club — all of which are quite popular with renters who long for a bit of peace and quiet.

Pleasant Ridge

Just 10 minutes from the center of Cincinnati lies Pleasant Ridge — an area that lives up to its name. With access to a multitude of bars, coffee shops and parks, this neighborhood is perfect for young professionals looking for a balance between their personal life and work. Plus, the Losantiville Country Club (a private country club that has been in operation since 1913) provides plenty of activities for renters who are looking to stay fit.

The Village of Indian Hill

West of Kenwood and Pleasant Ridge, this family friendly neighborhood rates high on our list for its beautiful parks and easy access to downtown Cincinnati, as well as the Over-the-Rhine area. Among its most notable spots are the Carmago Golf Club, Rheinstrom Park and the Stanley Rowe Arboretum. All in all, the area is perfect for families with young children who are looking to add a little more greenery in their lives.

Westwood

One of the oldest neighborhoods, Westwood is also one of Cincinnati’s largest suburban communities. It features a mix of historical buildings and modern apartment homes and is also adjacent to Mount Airy Forest — one of the largest municipal parks in the U.S. Similarly, the Bracken Woods is a great spot for any nature enthusiast, as it’s the home to the Robert J. Brodbeck Nature Preserve. Westwood Town Center Historic District is also popular with residents, the majority of whom are renters.
